Did you click the thingy for "files over 100MB"?
That's my most common failing (that and forgetting my Alzheimer's meds). If you don't click it, and the file is over 100MB, it will show as if it is uploading, and only after a few hours will a vague error message pop up.

The polls indicate there will probably not be any riots but your internet connection may have pooped out during upload.

Check out is actually the term for editing the item, think of the item as an envelope and when you check it out you open it and dump all the things out onto your desk.

Checking it back in is sealing it back up and putting it back on the shelf like a book, hence the library terminology.

If you post the link of what screen you were looking at it might help someone figure out that happened but without knowing what it was or where it is, no one will be able to help you.

Good luck, I used to get crazy frustrated here and it took awhile to figure things out on the backend. Things still happen but it's mostly a volunteer effort here and you have to be patient.

good luck and watch out for Tito
